    Strange marking psoition 1911 A1

Hello everyone, I am considering bidding for a 1911A1 that I spotted.
I would like to submit a picture of it where the Remington Rand markings on the left and right sides are strangely placed.
What do the experts think about this?

    Thank you in advance
    C

That pistol has been heavily buffed and refinished. Anything is possible.

They mention a refinishing on the auction's ad, but I don't understand how the markings could be so out of alignment

Difficult to determine very much from these photographs.

Some marks, possibly all, appear hand engraved. Some of the small parts have been chrome plated. Blue removed from the barrel hood or the barrel replaced. I do not think the slide would have passed inspection with the roll mark that far out of place.

I would not purchase this pistol if you want a representative WWII example.

I won't. Thanks for the appraisal!
