    1911 slide

Hello I installed a new end cap on recoil spring and I can’t pull slide back . When I install the old one back on it works perfectly. I was wondering what would cause that ?

We call that the "plug". Why did you change? What is the difference between old and new? Show pictures.

I changed because the old one was just an open hole and made it hard on finger when pushed down. The new one is slightly bigger round then the old one but can barley notice .

Does the pistol have a full-length recoil spring guide?

A real 1911 recoil spring guide is maybe an inch and a half long. The real 1911 plug is closed and checkered on the end.
A full length guide rod is four inches or so and requires a plug with a hole.
