Question Hybrid holster appendix carry 1911 Colt Commander?

Looking at getting an appendix carry hybrid holster for my Colt Commander. I looked at Crossbreed, but the closet thing they offer in 1911 appendix carry, is for three inch barreled 1911s in it's Freedom holster. Can anyone recommend another quality hybrid holster for the Commander sized 1911?

I'm not sure what you mean by hybrid, but the Blade Tech Klipt is an excellent appendix carry holster.

Thanks for the recommendation 11 Bravo. Hybrid holsters, have been around for about eight to ten years. Invented by Mark Craighead, from www.crossbreedholsters.com. That is the one I mentioned. It is a combination of a kydex holster with a comfortable leather backer, which is very comfortable. A lot of holster makers have jumped on board, but I am having difficulty find one that is exactly as I described above.

The reason you're having trouble is because the typical hybrid holster is not suited to appendix carry.

    Take a look at all the top AIWB holsters, to include - from JM Custom Kydex ( http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/c/AIWB-Holsters.html ), Custom Carry Concepts ( http://www.customcarryconcepts.com/S...AIWB_p_19.html ), Dale Fricke ( https://dalefrickeholsters.com/produ...ppendix-carry/ ), to 5 Shot Leather ( http://www.5shotleather.com/sme.htm ).

All are "small footprint" holsters with the loops either on the holster body or usually on the trigger guard side of the holster. Conversely, the typical "hybrid" is a "large footprint" holster with loops/clips outboard of the holster body, taking up a lot of space on the belt. There really isn't space, on most people, for a large footprint holster such as the typical hybrid to fit forward of the hip in the 1:00 area.
