Thank you for the most informative review. Although I already own a Volkmann, the full sized 5 inch model, it is always nice to see such a thurough and well written opinion. You are right about Luke, a great guy and a true gentelman, especially for one so young. I had a small problem and sent the gun back. It was back in my hands inside a week with the front polished to make it look brand new and it now runs like it did out of the shop. First rate service. Glad to see you are up and about. Keep up the good work.
P.S. I told my wife that if we win the lotto we are going to get Custom Combatants with consecutive numbers as presents to ourselves.

Great to have you back Slim.
The pics were great and it sounds like function and form followed suit with what one would expect from a custom 1911.
On the issue of cost I believe they are competitive with EB, NHC, and WC, and just saw that George and Gunslingers is now a dealer. From the pricing George is offering they appear very competitive if not a bit of a deal when compared to the rest of the higher end 1911 manufactures.
I also understand the fine folks from Thunder Ranch are recommending Volkmann Custom Pistols.
All that said, I am a bias as I have a Volkmann and really love it, almost 4000 rounds and still looks and shoots like new.
Great review of a great gun from a great writer, thanks for all you do.

Great job Steve, the pictures are excellent.
That firearm is absolutely beautifully made. The barrel/bushing and beveled edges of the bushing look fantastic. This is on my list now, for sure.
And with the high praise of the shop, I'll be investigating it now that I'm in the DFW area!
Great right up. Time to start saving my pennies for a custom

Thank you for the well-thought out and presented review. It's nice to read that a local boy is doing well.
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for your nice comments and compliments.
I've told more than a few people that this review is one of those rare instances wherein the review practically wrote itself. The photographs were intended to be as detailed as possible, and I was fortunate to get a few good pictures.
Once again, my thanks goes out to each and every one of you.
Great and very informative article, Steve. Now you have really peaked my interest as I have looked into these recently on their site. Now what do I do!?.........TW
