A Former Olympus fan who switched to Nikon and will Never go back!. I`ve had Oly`s since my OM-1 back in 1976,the Cat`s Meow then. Got into shooting wildlife in the past coupla years and had to move UP to Nikon. Here`s some pix on my site... www,halbambrick.com . I shoot with two d-90`s,one with the 18-200 zoom and the other with the 80-400 zoom. They work better than any Oly out there. Nikon Rules!.

That's great to hear! I don't know about you but after refinishing mine, I feel "different" about mine.....I reckon I just appreciate it more. And by far, rust bluing is far more durable than cold bluing....even takes on a glow when you oil it down.

Yeah,I know what you mean. The finish is satin smooth,has a good blue color but it has a "Depth" to it I`ve never seen before,Pilkington`s works!. My Lady just got herself a Bersa Thunder .380 and I`m looking at the slide and thinking "Here I go again"-haha. I`ll probably do it in awhile. Have a Good Week!!!!.

Very cool changes coming down the pike with Nikon and I understand the enthusiasm. There's some serious money involved in "keeping up with the Jones" in the camera industry. It's easy to get "left in the shade" in this age of technical advancement. I'm still using, and will for a long time, a D80 with a Nikkor 18-70 lens which covers my photo needs fine. Heck, I've still got my mint-looking N70 body that I don't know what to do with and occasionally use one of the two lenses that I had with it on my D80 - a Nikkor 28-80 and 80-200.

My serious money has gone to 1911's which I enjoy much more than photography so I guess the world's still spinning OK on my behalf.

The D80 is a fine camera, some of my best pictures were shot with it. I used to have it together with the 18-105mm lens (if I remember correctly) and it was just fine. I wish I could say that my photography has improved with the newest cameras, not so. It's the photographer who makes the pictures, not the camera.

Amen to that, brother! Unfortunately I've proven over the years that I'm a "snap-shooter extraordinaire" rather than a gifted (or even decent) photographer.

My oldest one is an F2A. My first one (back in 1975) was an F2 Photomic. Heh, I've gone through most of them, F2, FM, FE, F3, FM2, F4, F5. I guess I've missed the first F and the last, F6. I am not going to invest in another film Nikon any more, the F2A, an FE and an F5 are more than enough for my ... film adventures these days.

There is only one lab developing slides (Velvia) in Greece and scanning them is too time consuming. So I try not to .... overdo it with film.
