    Pictures from Vegas

Being a photography nut, I always take pictures from places I visit, even if that's my fourth or fifth time visiting that place. And of course, I take a lot more pictures, if I am using a new camera.

This year, Santa was good to me, and a Fujifilm X100 ended up in my camera bag.

I am in love with my new toy, so I decided that I would only bring this camera to the SHOT Show this year. Reducing the weight of my carry-on bag by several kilos, was a promising factor. The fact that the tests I did before leaving, shooting pictures of a pistol, showed me that the camera produced the quality I wanted. So the X100 went in the carry-on bag and I left for Las Vegas.

You can see the pictures I shot at the SHOT Show in another thread, so here I'll present you with some other pictures I shot at my spare time.

Leaving from Athens airport early in the morning, allowed me the rare opportunity to see the mountains around the city capped with snow. This usually happens only once or twice a year.

    Great work John!

That is NOT London in the last picture (there's a really easy way to tell!).

Maybe he flipped the negative, so the tail lights are on the right hand side....

    Bingo!

I was a university student in the UK, on and off for 7 years... seeing the reversed traffic lights from the plane, when it came to land, was a useful reminder!

When I saw Frank's picture of you holding your new toy I thought maybe you had fallen off the Leica/film bandwagon again. I didn't even occur to me that it was digital.

How do you like it? Can you use it like a true rangefinder or do you have to use the screen on the back? The shots look awesome!

I bet that was a good cigar.

I was going to say the big ferris wheel on the Thames, but the tail lights would work too.
