Who makes the frame and what type of frame was on the STI if there both with in Army spec's they should match. Ask Midway if they know if they will match or not, you may end up with a super tight fit or super sloppy fit and if the slide falls short of the frame it might interfere with the disconnecter, if it overhangs you'll have to blend it. good luck.

The same slide, from STI (who sells the frames), 'should' fit both frames... with a couple of pre-conditions:

    a) The two frames should be cut for the same type of barrel ramp (2011 frames are typically cut for ramped barrels, in the Wilson/Nowlin style)
    b) There is no such thing as a drop-in part in 1911 pistols, so you should expect to have to do 'some' (at the very least) fitting. Which will be tricky, since the barrel is usually modified to fit the frame, not the other way around... and you will have one barrel (and slide) for two frames.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
