I am from a different school of thought on light rails. It is only natural that a felon intent on not being arrested would shoot at the source of the light. Not good, when you are behind the light. When I searched for felons I held my hand held flash light extend as far away from my torso as possible. Any incoming fire would at worse only hit my weak arm.
Rich, I read your post and just had to add my little bit of 'stir the pot' response.
If a right handed shooter holds a light with their left hand away from their body, such as the FBI light hold, this presents a problem for said shooter if the person they face is also a right hand shooter. If said shooter shoots at the light and jerks the trigger, their shots will go low left...meaning you'll get shot!
