Canon users: match that if you can

The only camera brand that has its own Saint.

John, you have to be dead before you can be Saint. Canons haven't died yet. BTW I believe they Canonize Saints.

Then we have a miracle in our hands, because as far as I know Nikon is alive and well, and there is evidence (shown above) that St. Nikon exists!!!! LoRL

Proof that El Comandante (a) is biased, and (b) didn't have English as his first language. Who else would read the abbreviation for "Street" and claim it implied sainthood?

Actually Hawk, the abbreviation in that sign IS referring to sainthood, not 'street'.

It's a Greek road sign. The brown color signifies that the item listed is a monument or a place of worship. The Greek version on top, reads: "Ag. Nikon", the first word being an abbreviated version of "Agion", which literally translates to... 'Saints'. So the small chapel shown is dedicated to the Orthodox 'Victory Saints'...

...which has nothing whatsoever to do with Nikons, or cameras in general, apart from the fact that, as it has already been pointed out, like all Saints, these have been Canonized!

(thanks patriotic, that's the funniest comeback to a Nikonian I've ever read in a while!)

Well, actually, I must correct you too Spyros.

The abbreviation means "Saint", not "Saints" and the second word is "Νίκων" which is a proper noun, just like John or Spyros. So the exact translation is "Saint Nikon" church, nothing to do with victories, which would be spelled "Νικών".

After a short seach, I have to say that John is right... there IS an Orthodox Saint-Nikon!

Thinking I might get lucky, I then looked a bit further, and no, there is no Saint Canon... however, it turns out that the Orthodox clergy refers to 'Canon' as a long, structured hymn.

    Oh well...
