    Arrow Horseshoe Leather Covert #28

Reputable makers of custom leather holsters will always point out to prospective customers that the choices to be made are personal and distinctive to each individual's needs and conditions. Gun to be carried, body-type of the person, weather conditions, level of concealment, and ease of access to the weapon are just some of the things that must be considered before buying a quality custom-made holster.

Andy Arratoonian, the one man operation behind "Horseshoe Leather" makes all of these points quite clear in his web-site. I chose to purchase a Covert 28 for my Kimber Ultra Carry II based on his excellent insight as to the factors that will make a concealed holster "carry-able". I ordered the holster in "Saddle Tan" in early spring of this year, and true to Andy's return e-mail, I received my holster exactly six weeks later.

The vivid color and fine hand-boning of the holster.

My holster is cut to fit a 1 1/2 inch gunbelt. The holster is similar to an Askin's style wraparound design. The reinforcing strip of leather around the opening aids in one-handed re-holstering of the weapon.

Attention to detail (stitching and finishing) is Mr. Arratoonian's forte. The last two photos will show the Ultra Carry in the Covert 28, and the back of the holster, showing the fine stitching that Andy uses on all of his holsters.

The gun and holster combo hides easily under a T-shirt or shirt tail, and the extension on the back of the holster kept the sweat (a constant in Texas in the summertime) away from my weapon. I wear Wranglers most of the time, and the holster fits between over-lapping belt loops behind my right hip. It is secure! Mr. Arratoonian's designs are works of leather-making art, and I unhesitatingly recommend "Horseshoe Leather" to anyone looking for a quality custom made holster. You may visit Andy's website by clicking on his banner at the top of the Forums page.

Welcome to the best-kept secret in the holsters business. Andy's products are the best I've ever tried, and believe me I have a box full of holsters I seldom use. Andy's ones are on my belt daily.
