Which pistols can be discussed in this forum (with serial # tables)

Non-Colt manufactured pistols produced outside the U.S. in the M1911 or M1911A1-type configuration under contract in/for another country.

Examples include the Sistema, Norwegian M1912/ M1914, Argentines, Brazilians, pistols marked “D.G.F.M.”, etc.

*Please see the serial number and production date charts on the site provided by author Charles W. Clawson.

Please note that this is the proper forum to discuss pistols made by Colt for other Governments than the US one.

Such pistols are the ones sold to Russia or to England etc. While these pistols were standard Colt Commercial pistols, they are to be discussed here, since they have additional marks which differentiate them from the standard, commercial market Colts.

Lend-Lease pistols (i.e. pistols that the American Government sent to other countries, from the inventory of US Military) are not to be discussed in here. These pistols should be discussed in the US Government Issue pistols forum.
