    Which pistols can be discussed in this forum (with serial # tables)

    The following specific commercial production Colt Pre-Series 70 M1911-style pistols:

    .45 cal full-size pistols

    All Colt Government Model and Government Model National Match pistols with a C prefix or suffix in the serial number, manufactured 1912-1970 from serial numbers C1 to C240287 and 240288-C to 336169-C.

    All Colt Gold Cup National Match pistols manufactured 1957-1970 with an NM serial number suffix. Serial range 1-NM to 37025-NM. This DOES NOT include any pistols with a 70 serial number prefix or suffix.

    All Colt .45 ACP Kit guns manufactured 1964-1972 in the serial range 00500-B to 01564-B.

    Commander .45 acp, .38 Super and 9mm P


    All lightweight Colt Commander pistols, manufactured 1949-1970 with or without the LW serial number suffix, in serial ranges 001 to 065 and 66-LW to 6 0277-LW. The late 1969-1970 pistols will have a CLW serial number prefix in the serial range CLW001001 to CLW005101.

    .38 cal full-size pistols

    All Colt Super .38 and Super Match .38 pistols manufactured 1929-1947 in the serial range 1 to 202388. These pistols do not have any serial number prefix or suffix.

    All Colt Super .38 and Super Match .38 pistols manufactured between 1961 and 1969 with an MS serial number suffix in serial range 107-MS to 855-MS, or with a CS serial number prefix in serial range CS001001 to CS005280.

    All Colt Gold Cup National Match .38 Mid-Range "MR" series pistols, manufactured 1960-1973, in the serial range 100-MR to 9409-MR.

    All Colt .38 Special Kit guns, manufactured 1964-1970, in the serial range 00100-H to 00703-H.

    .22 cal full-size pistols

    All.22 Colt Ace pistols, manufactured 1931-1947, with a serial range of 1-10935. These pistols have no serial number prefix or suffix.

    All.22 Colt Service Model Ace pistols, manufactured 1935-1945, in the serial range SM 1 to SM 13803.
