    SOG Multitools

I have a SOG Powerlock that I got 2 years ago to replace my Leatherman Mini that I lost (found it the other day - yeah 2 years later). Used to work in Merchandicing for a retail company and used it every day. If I'm not working at my new job (ban on multitools) it's on my belt.

Lowes carries them under the SOG name and Paladin tools PowerPlay name. At least they used to, my local shop only has the SOG branded ones. Both are made by SOG.

SOG makes some quality knives and I own 14 or more. Their Multitools are also of good quality. Dropped mine in a ditch next to the bus stop in the fall of 2007. It sat there covered in snow for about 3 weeks till it melted and I found it. Washed it up, lubbed it and have been using it since. The leather sheath has broken at work and I didn't notice it till I lost the tool. Replaced it with a nylon sheath from SOG and it's held it fine since then. The Nylon sheath can be mounted verticly or horizantally which I really like.

For a complete list of specs and avaliable models check out there website: SOG knives.

Who else around here uses SOG knives and tools?

Would love to have one of the old Paratools, they sure are cool. Nice to know that you are getting use out of it after 16 years.

A multi tool is a versatile piece of equipment that has many valuable uses in the field or in a survival scenario. If you were boiling a can of water, you could use the pliers to grab hold of it without burning your hand. The pliers on a multi tool will be used more than you think in the field or on a camping trip. You can take the hook out of a fish. In a survial scenario, the wire cutters can snip the snare wire for you. The screwdriver can be used to repair other gear or equiment. And of course the knives have multiple uses as well.

I like my SOG knives, they take and hold an edge well.
I have an old paratool and love it. Speaking of which, I need to get it back from my GF who borrowed it and put it in her tank bag for her MC trip.

I have the SOG Paratool in Black Oxide. I love it! I bought from a police supply store that was going out of business.....I got it for a song, only $20! Given the fact they retail for $100, I really made out.
