    KWA Hop-Up

New to Airsoft's and bought a KWA G19. The manual that came with it is not very good. It doesn't even tell you how to adjust the Hop-Up.
It seemed to shoot well as it came out of the box but in cleaning it and looking at how the adjustment worked, I moved it a couple of clicks but tried to set it back where it was.
Now it seems to shoot a little left at the same distance (about 15 ft.) I was shooting it before.

Can anyone tell me the proper way to check the adjustment?
How does this adjustment work on the BB? What happens?

    Thanks
    Ken

    Hi there

Hop-up works by moving a piece of rubber at the top of the barrel. As the BB moves past this it puts back spin on the BB. The more back spin the more upwards the BB will fly. The trick is adjusting the hop-up so the BB flies straight.

As for the shooting to the left, try cleaning the barrel. I find that new barrels sometimes have some very thick grease from when they turn them down at the factory.

Also make sure you don't get any oil onto the hop rubber, this will cause it to be less effective. I find that after I've doused my gun in silicone spray that its best to clean the barrel and hop-up with the cleaning rod supplied with the gun. Wrap a small piece of lint free cloth round the end. The barrels work best dry anyway.

    Hope that helps.

It's a very interesting read Stew and a more than little mind boggling , at least to me . The sample equation gave me a pretty good headache . I guess I'm not use to using that part of my mind ( note to self , avoid the magnus effect if at all possible ) .
