Steve wrote an excellent review of a fine holster. I like the fact that the Horseshoe Leather Products Covert #28S holster is a wraparound design.

Another fine piece, Steve. I always enjoy reading your stuff.

One question though. Why the sight channel on a holster for a New Agent?

    Excellent question!

Since Andy's operation is in England, he depends on aluminum molds of the pistols he uses to fit his customers' requests. The Colt New Agent is a relatively new offering from Colt, and I suspect Andy does not yet have an aluminum model of that particular pistol.

In fact, when I ordered the holster, I informed Andy of the differences between the New Agent and the Colt Defender (an aluminum model of which provided the mold for my holster). Since the Defender has sights, I fully expected to find the molding of the holster to include an area molded for them. Not shown in my photographs was the interior sight track which Andy included with my holster. Other than the sights, the dimensions of the pistols are identical, so the fit with the rest of the gun is superb.

Very nice review, once again and some really fine pics to tell the rest of the story.

Knowing Andy's work, I have no doubt that the fit is fantastic. However, therein lies my curiousity. I understand that it's hard for a guy living 5000 miles away, in the most anti-gun, first-world country on the planet, to gain access to the latest nuances of the gun industry, but, as you said, he had the mold and knew the New Agent had no sights.

My guess, knowing you, was that you likely wanted the sight channel for versatility sake; so as to accommodate other similar models, with sights. Am I right?
