    Thumbs up

Hi John and Hawkmoon, as soon as I get a response from you that I can still order these magazines, I will send the check for the described amounts. Thanks so much for this offer!

And I would like to get 5 of these please.

If I order these will they be shipped together when you get enough orders? Thanks again. Please let me know so I can mail my check.

There is currently no stock of magazines. We are accepting orders, on the basis that when the orders reach a quantity that will get the quantity discount from Check-Mate, the order will be submitted at that time. As John has noted, we are not set up as a business, with a system in place to send the legally-required backorder update notices every 30 days. If you're willing to wait an indeterminate period, we'll accept the order if you sent it with a letter waiving the notice of order status, as John explained in an earlier post. Orders received without the waiver will be returned.

About how much more orders (payments) are you still needing? I am just curious, because after I send my check in....I'll try to harass my friends to buy some too...

Can you give us a guess?

I understand the procedure, I understand the process and I have absolutely no problem with any of it, but based on the orders that you have and or how often you get an order can you give us an educated guess as to when you may be placing an order.

There are probably several of us out here draging our feet (I am) that would order if we had any idea how long before you would be able to make an order and if you were close maybe we would order 4 instead of 2.

Thanks for doing this I can only imagine the headaces one brings upon himself for volunteering for a project like this.

Unfortunately, we cannot make an educated guess as to when we'll be able to order. The first batch of magazines we ordered sold out almost instantly. The second batch sold out, but more slowly, which is why John decided not to pre-buy another batch.

At the moment we have three orders, for a total of 19 magazines -- but not all the same type. We need a minimum quantity of 40 magazines per type in order to get the price John used for setting this up. There is simply no way we can predict when we might receive enough orders to put us over 40. And it's entirely possible/probable that we'll hit 40 for one type well before we hit 40 for the other type.

Clearly, this is not a proposition for those who want/need their magazines immediately. It's a good deal for people who are willing to be patient, and if you pay by check you're not really out anything up front because we hold the checks until we're ready to order. (Which is going to be a minor logistical problem if some of the early checks go beyond 90 days.) "Foot draggers" don't help the process because we have no way of knowing who is poised to order. And, as John has mentioned before, after the calendar fiasco we realize that we cannot rely on posts saying "I'm going to order ..." We have to have actual orders in hand -- with the waiver regarding the back-order notification.

For what it's worth, after paying unexpected medical bills, I am still ordering at least eight more eight rounders and pads for them. Should be next month.

Depending on how much overtime I work, more mags & pads.

I am somewhat worried about this since I am sending a check. Is there any way around this? If the 90 days are past with not enough orders, should I send in a money order instead (do these have expirations) ?

Is it possible to give us an update with actual numbers for each magazine and bumper kits? If it is too much work then nevermind me asking....Thanks

Thanks Hawkmoon. At least that gives me an idea. I didn't know if you needed 40 or 150 to make an order.

Obviously you will get 40 orders before you get 150. My money order will be in the mail in a couple of days.

Again, thanks for taking on this self-inflected headache.

There is no difference on our end between a check and a money order. To our surprise, the bank says they require the same three days for a money order to clear as for a personal check from out of state.

The difference is on your end. We'll hold the orders, and the checks, until we're ready to place an order. That means if you send a check the money doesn't come out of your account until the time we reach "critical mass." If you send us a money order, you have to buy it up front, so your money is sitting in an envelope on somebody's desk for an indeterminate period of time.
