    who issues?

    I was wondering if any of yall could shed some light on
    which law enforcment/government agency's issue to or allow
    there people to carry 1911's?

    Fayette county Sheriff allows 1911 and so does Bastrop County Sheriff both in Texas.

    As of a couple of years ago, the Tacoma, WA, PD either issued or authorized the 1911 as a duty weapon. I don't know if that's still current, as their chief committed suicide a couple of years back and I don't know if the new leadership might have revised the policy.

    The 3 TX counties I've lived in have allowed Deputies to carry whatever they can qualify with. The downside is they gotta provide it. I was surprised to see a shiny Kimber in a guy's holster when I first moved here.
