The same with "Series 70 Commander"

LoRL, the middle one is the one to use for your airsoft chrono tests.
Uh, new guy here, but the object on the top left appears to be a Lee-Enfield "charger".
The British didn't use "clips".

Good Lord, Men! Get the man's POINT!
It would appear to me that the good gentleman is just as annoyed with these "clip" vs "magazine" errors in nomenclature, as am I!
Clips are not Mags and Mags are NOT clips! Not ever! The terms are NOT interchangable!!!
Let's get simple:
Think of it this way. There is a "paper clip". This, IS a "clip". By definition, it holds multiple articles together via the simplest method. It only insures integrity, NOT contiguity! A staple falls into this same catagory. When it comes to guns, we have nomenclature like; stripper clip and moon clip. These, my friends, are CLIPS!
Now, for MAGAZINES! A magazine, by definition, is a combination of similar articles, aligned together, in a fixed manner and scheme, so as to function as one. To be encased and contiguously grouped.
Literary magazines are "bound". Ordnance bearing magazines are encased cartridges. The individual cartridges are completely enveloped by said encasement.
Bottom line: 1911s are MAGAZINE fed. M1 Garands are CLIP fed. There is a BIG difference. Know it. Live it. Above all, SAY IT!
I, for one, am dog-tired of hearing people say, "I shot 4 CLIPS of 230gr FMJ through my new Colt."! What you DID DO, was shoot four... MAGAZINES!
Thanks, OD*, for trying to bring us into the light. I doubt if it will change anything, but I applaud your effort.
Godspeed in your futility.
As Bernard Shaw said, "England and America are two countries separated by a common language." I suspect that "charger" is what the English call a "clip" -- just as "lift" is what they call an "elevator" and "braces" is what they call "suspenders."Originally Posted by Ed Hill

Trust me "mate", having lived there, owned a house there, owned a car and bought a dog there, what they speak is English! What we speak, is AMERICAN. Think of it this way; to the Germans, the Dutch speak "Plat Deutsch" (Farm German). To the Dutch, it's their native tongue. German, Dutch, English and American are germanic languages, but as an American, you are no closer to speaking English than the Dutch are to speaking, "Hoch Deutsch" (High German). Yes, a German speaker can understand a Dutch speaker, but there is much difference and even more, lost in translation.Originally Posted by Rich-D
Entitled rant: Regardless of jibberish, 1911s are MAGAZINE FED! Not clip fed! I wish the UN (or perhaps John), would declare some sort of mandatory correctness on this issue. It really bugs me. Kinda like "general consensus", or "irregardless"! ACK!
