I recently bought a COLT MK IV SERIES 70 the s/n dates to 1973 production. I was told the gun was completely original however the magazine has no other marking except an R on the top of the floor plate lip, it's a 7 round magazine for a government model does anyone know if this is the original magazine to the firearm or a aftermarket risdon magazine?

    Welcome to the forum.

Photos would help. From just the description I would say a military contract Ridson magazine from WWII or possibly WWI. Not original to the pistol.
