    Ciener Conversions no longer available

It recently came to our attention that Joseph Arthur Ciener, the manufacturer of .22LR conversions for both 1911s and for Hi-Powers, ceased operations as of 2023. Their web site is still up and functioning, but sales are limited to whatever old stock they may have on hand.

It appears that the business is available if someone wants to buy it. Contact information is on the web site.

There was a period during which Ciener's business practices were rather "dubious," but the products themselves were excellent. I have two Ciener 1911 conversions, one full-size and one Commander-length. I have been happy with both of them. I'm sorry to see them go out of business, because they were the most affordable .22 rimfire conversions available.

I've also heard difficult to do business with. I still see one offered occasionally on ePay.
