New 1911 shooter here. My brother sold me his Baby Eagle 1911G. I was surprised at how easy it is to shoot.
Finally, had an issue arise - the trigger would not reset. I'd have to moved the slide reward about a half-inch and it would reset.
I'm an old retire guy, so I figured I'd take the time to buy a book, watch a video, etc. and fix it myself. That has not worked well for me.
I saw a page that is said to provide assembly instructions here, but there are no hyperlinks on that page. So, no help there.
Fast forward the hammer strut and the mainspring housing don't seem designed for each other. If I slide the strut under the housing, the hammer won't move. If I aim the strut at the depression on the face of the housing, it is too long.
I do not know how to pass this point. Can anyone provide me information on how to install the hammer strut and the mainspring housing in a way that will let the hammer move?
Really, the video looked easy!
