Recoil spring, plug, and guide stuck

I recently tried to strip down and clean my 9mm Springfield 1911 (ive done it a couple times now) but not this time.
I could not push the plug down to turn the barrel bushing. Just would not depress.

So I removed the slide stop and got the rail off that way. Yet the spring and plug are still stuck! I think the spring was placed backwards causing some kind of jam for it to not release. But without potentially doing damage to the gun (I think), I cannot get it free.

Any ideas or do i need to just bang it out at this point and deal with any potential damage?

Welcome to the forum. I would try some type of penetrating oil, i.e. Kroil, or similar first. If that doesn't work I would call Springfield.
