Hey everyone, excited to be here! Im fairly into guns, but more so modern firearms than anything. I recently got my hands on a pistol that my grandfather left (it was not his originally). Ive done some research, it seems as though its a 1918 production year. The frame, slide are in decent shape. Grips have seen some days, or 100+ years ha Can anyone elaborate on this thing? I cant seem to find any info on what the eagle that looks to be holding the shield means? From what i understand it was common for these to have colt frames and in this case springfield slides. Its an awesome piece of history and i see the values all over the place. Any input would be appreciated!
