    Getting back to it

I wanted to put an ambi safety on one of mine, but didn't know that the safety has to be fitted to the gun. I haven't been doing this for a bit, and instead of guessing on the safety I just took the fire control bits apart and started playing with them. Getting back to understanding them. Fun stuff! That's one of the things I like about the 1911; you can understand a greater percentage of how it works.

I'm no gunsmith but have fun tinkering. I've considered obtaining a 9 inch South Bend or similar lathe and a small mill. With those I might be dangerous.
