    Thanks for accepting me.

I served in the Army & Army National Guard for 13 years. Always carried a 1911. 4 years in the Cavalry, I carried 2 + an M3 Grease gun. When all the protesting started in 2020, my wife & I purchased side arms. She's a veteran also. I wanted a 1911 but I was 68 years old and concerned about being able to handle it so I purchased a SA XD Mod 2 9MM. Love the gun but always regretted not buying a 1911. Last year I was diagnosed with inoperable stage 3 lung cancer, (I'm kicking it's butt). My Grandson is a United States Marine & because of the cancer, he wanted me to have a 1911 45ACP. He got all my children & Grandchildren to throw in and they gave me a gift certificate for a 1911 for Christmas. He told me to get a Tisas 1911A1 45 ACP. I joined this group to reeducate myself on the 1911.

Welcome from another U.S. Army veteran. You're not too old for a 1911. I'm over 80 and the 1911 is still my choice for everyday carry.
