    Hello from brrrr cold Florida

Well, it warmed up from Jan. but thee is NO global warming. The past 3-4 Jans prove that.

I registered a while ago, but am finally getting into this site. I'm in FL, am a retired Army Colonel, IT professional and sometimes accountant (not public).

My primary pistol interest is US military M1911 & M1911A1s and Colt Model O (1911s). I also dabble in German military pistols from WW1 & WW2, P.08s & P.38s. I have a few non-Colt 1911 pistols and a Beretta M9, mainly because I carried one in the desert and it was a great buy.

I'm also into M1 Rifles, M1 Carbines (US Military only), M14s (semi - can't afford an auto) & AR-15s (Colt only).

I guess I'll just start with a few pics of what may be my best Colt, a BB-series govt model - the LAST BB series ever made. I guess I can only upload 2 at a time.

The sealed Colt letter from 1970 clearly sets the date of mfr in Oct 1970, Several months after the BB series was ended and the Mk IV Series 70s were started.

Here are three more showing the SN and the barrel top and original box.

I just needed to resize them a bit (50%) and I can upload them.

I'm sorry I've been out of the loop for a while. Welcome to the forum.
