Some sites and self-proclaimed experts seem to regard this as a monumental step in restoring gun rights. Please read it and decide for yourself. My view is that it doesn't do much for us at all.

First of all, Trump can only deal with federal laws and regulations. He can't unilaterally enact laws, and it's debatable to what extent he can override BATFE regulations. So state laws, such as restrictive magazine limits, are unaffected by this. Perhaps more important, this EO is limited to the Biden administration. That means the examination of laws and regulations won't go anywhere near the NFA, the GCA of 1968, the Brady bill, the Gun Free School Zone Act, or any BATFE regulations/restrictions imposed before Biden took office.

This EO may be a start, but it's a very limited start, at best.
