New Member, Whats my gun worth?

Hello, i'm a true beliver in 1911's, and it is also my all time favorite hand gun. I'v owned many over the years although i'v been out of the hobby for quite some time and now am getting back in. I purchased a Colt 1911 series 80 engraved with the "E" at the end of the serial number back in 1998? From G.F. Spangenberg gunstore in Tombstone AZ. It was their store gun. Does the "E" mean that it was engraved through Colt? It's unfired, in the box . I IMG_1832.jpgIMG_1831.jpgIMG_1866.jpgdont know what the value is and probably will sell it as i could never shoot or carry this gun. It's way to nice. Any help will be most appreciated, Thank You

    Hey Sparky,
    Welcome.
I have no clue what the engraved Model 80 would be worth. I think the "E" is enhanced.
I say the Colt blue plastic box says it left the factory as a stock Series 80 Government. The factory custom unit released most custom guns in a blue carboard box inside a heavy carboard box. So, the engraving may be done by the shop.

I'd say the original papers from the gun store will be most important as to the value.
Colt 1911, S&W revolvers, Winchester rifles
