Anyone buy directly from Ajax Grips recently?

I ordered a pair of full size smooth "Ivory" 1911 grips with silver colt medallions in the center on May 28th. I've contacted the owner via phone a couple times since then about the grips and when they might ship. First time I called he said they didn't have any in stock and for some reason a lot of people were ordering those exact grips. He told me he should have them in a few weeks.

A month goes by and I call again and he says the grips aren't ready yet and thanked me for being patient. Almost another month goes by and he tells me they got the grips in, but they had bubbles in the grips so he had to have more made.

We come to today and the website is down, but the phone number still works where he says "Ajax Grips" in the message before the beep.

Now the guy has been nice this entire time and I really do want those grips, but I'm wondering what's going on. I wanted to see if anyone here bought grips from them in the past few months and how the experience went.

I can't find a web site for Ajax Grips, only a link to a Facebook page. I don't do Facebook, so I can't check that out.

I thought I remembered that Ajax had gone out of business. Turns out I was right, but it was longer ago than I remembered:

If you ordered from them recently, that may mean that someone bought the company, or maybe just bought the name. I'm afraid I don't know what to suggest for you, except perhaps to cancel your payment (since they haven't shipped, they should not have charged your credit card), and order from a more reliable source.
