Kimber warrior hammer pin not flush.

The pin is flush with the safety off. But it sticks out on the right side of the gun like the pin is too long, or the safety should have a dish for the pin to rest in.

The gun was purchase new. I’m working on it for a friend that claims it hasn’t always been this way. Also the gun has never been completely taken apart. Just want to mention that so no one thinks parts were mixed up possibly. I have compared other 1911’S and the pin is flush on both sides.

Wonder if anyone has any ideas or answers .. I think that possibly from the factory the wrong pin or safety was installed and he “friend” just noticed it.

For what it's worth, I have never seen a 1911 with the hammer pin flush on the right-hand side. The end of the pin should be rounded, and the rounded part protrudes. According to the Ordnance Department blueprints for the M1911A1, the frame should measure .762" - .005". The hammer pin overall length should measure .786" - .010"
