Argentine model 1927 /does anybody have a clue what this is?

has anybody seen anything like this from argentina before? its made the rounds with almost every colt collector i know and everybody has been stumped so far. nothing in Gherovici's book or anywhere in clawson or Goddard publications. grips were changed obviously and it has the traditional argentine numbered magazine and barrel.The slides left markings Colt automatic Model 1927 with the rampant colt right side has BFF only the gun is polished nickel . the nickel is tough to get a good photo sorry JIM

Difficult to determine much from these photos. I'm no photographer but pictures taken outside in the shade with a dark background might help.

Interesting. Thank you for posting the much clearer photos.

Rotated 90 degrees and 300% zoom shows some irregularities in the characters, ie, the O in Colt. Possibly just the photo enlarged that much or some polishing away of some detail.

It might also possibly be a pantographed marking. Inspect the ends of the lines creating the letters like L, T, I, etc. Do they appear squared off or rounded off at the ends of the lines?
