Wide Spur Hammer ID Colt Type 4?

Can anyone help me positively ID this hammer? I’m after a Colt type 4 for my 717xxx 1940 Colt 1911A1. I ordered Poyer’s book on the 1911 but it hasn’t arrived yet. All I have been able to find for reference is coolgunsite.com. I’m thinking this may not be a type 4 after looking at the rear profile of the spur. Can anyone help me out here? I’m trying my best to research and build a collection of references but the Clawson book is so hard to find. Thanks, Dan

Rear of the spur, checkering and the finish don't seem correct.

I am aware the finish is wrong. Any idea who the manufacturer may have been?

My Poyer and Riesch book finally arrived. I’m confident it’s a Colt type 5 appropriate for my serial range based on these photos

The "C" on the side indicates it is not a hammer that was used in pistol production, but was manufactured as a field service replacement part well after 1940.
A lot of people ruin old .45s by trying to improve them.
