Unusual Screw On The Left Side of Colt 1911 Slide

I was just poking around the internet and ran across a video that depicted a couple of Colt roll-marked 1911 pistols that, on the left side of the slide just in front of the rear cocking serrations, at the top of the flat portion, had what appeared to be some sort of metal tab held on with a screw.

I looked at the Colt Manufacturing web site, and none of the pistols shown there had such a thing.

Anybody have a clue what this was?

I found the review. Considering that the review is supposed to be of a Rock Island 1911 (and the first view in that portion of the video shows a Rock Island pistol) but the pistol with the screw in the slide says 'Colt" on the left side of the slide, I would venture to say that, yes, he used an airsoft pistol for the photo prop.

Check the view at 03:59 of the video. That's not even a 1911. It's a CZ 75B in 9mm. Toward the end of the RIA review he mentions that it has a parkerized finish. Then the imagery at the end (around 04:23) shows someone shooting a Commander or Officer-size 1911 in Coyote Tan.

The guy is obviously just using whatever imagery he can grab to illustrate his machine-read narrative.

Kind of suspected that. There's so much of the junk on the internet these days.

Have you noticed all of the Fox News videos being posted by anyone else BUT Fox News? With titles having nothing to do with the content. And content that might be weeks, months, or even years old? Fox should track these guys down and hammer them with copyright infringement.
