Tisas 1911 A1 US Army 9 (Zig M1) questions

Hope to get a range report tomorrow, didn't pick her up until late. Three questions so far, do standard aftermarket parts fit, the box says "Series 70 internals" but how is that different than my Sistema, and the barrel is ramped; what "form factor" is the ramp? It's not a standard 1911/45ACP.

Standard 1911 parts **should** fit.

I didn't know that Tisas had gone over to ramped barrels. The two likely possibilities are either Clark-Para or Wilson-Nowlin. If you can post a good photo of the underside of the barrel and a side view of the underlug area, we can tell you pretty quickly which it is.

Hey Hawkmoon, from Nurmrich, it looks like a Clark/Para. This model (Zig M1) doesn't even appear on Tisas' site, major differences so far are that the grip (plastic) checkering does not have the diamond pattern, it has only one mag, and comes in a cardboard box vice hardshell case. Even the importer (SDS Imports) site just points to Tisas. Internal finish looks different, I'm not sure if the metal wasn't smoothed, or if it wasn't cleaned before the cerakote was applied.

Range Report

Mostly functional out of the box. When full, the 9 round MacGar mag pushed the top round nose down, preventing feeding. Pulling the slide back, levering the round up a little, and then releasing the slide worked just fine. No real issues feeding after the first, and no real hammer bite, either. Which is nice, considering the design replicates the 1911 A1. I won't show the shot group, because I haven't shot in a while. Suffice it to say that I could easily find and focus on the front sight, and the trigger monkey owns any grouping issues.

My 1911 has been a very good pistol. .45 ACP, though, and it doesn’t have a ramped barrel.

Just a quick shoutout to SDS Imports customer service. I ordered a replacement hammer for my 1911 Wednesday morning. Two hours later I had an email saying the part was in the mail. Outstanding!
