I have a Browning Hi-Power in 40S&W on the way but I'm looking into an extended and ported barrel and would first like to know the length of the standard factory barrel please? I've looked online and have found websites saying 4 5/8' and 4 7/8" so I'm not sure of the real length. Thank you.

Why not wait until you have the pistol in hand, and measure it? Short of that, manufacturer’s specs should have that info.

I got my HP in 40S&W a couple weeks ago and ordered an extended 3 port barrel from Bar-Sto with only a 14 week wait. Now if I can just do something with the high pound hammer springs in my 9 and 40. Wolff has reduced pound springs but not sure what I want to try.
