I'm 64, and still a very active competitive shooter. I have the usual eyesight challenges that goes with older age. I started using a red dot for .22LR bullseye matches a few years ago and it has enhanced my shooting enjoyment and abilities greatly. I shoot indoors at 20 yards. I also wear yellow tinted safety shooting glasses over my prescription glasses which helps. I've never used a red dot on a centrefire pistol but I'm pretty sure a red dot will be very helpful.
