    Another new member from FLA.

Hello all, reside in Holly Hill just north of Daytona Beach.
Waiting for my CMP 1911A1 in the spring. Hoping for a salty shooter! I have been collecting milsurps (mostly rifles) from 20th century, a couple Krags too. My '43 colt/colt 1911 A1 RIA rebuild is my prize pistol, also a stainless Dan Wesson for a shooter.
Found this site recently and am enjoying lurking and searching older threads so far. Lots of good history and knowledge here!
Lately looking for GI holster info, have a 1916 '43 Graton and Knight, and a recent pickup, M7 Boyt 1945 USMC I'm trying to figure out
I'm sure I'll have specific questions later for the experts here.

Welcome from the cold and snowy Eye-Da-Ho!

Looking forward to your post when you get your CMP 1911! I'm sorry I didn't participate. Maybe they'll have a 3rd round...

Thanks for the warm welcome fellows. I have reviewed older posts here and US militaria forums on mildew and treatment options for my M7 holster. Going to experiment on some older, ugly leather pieces first.
Brett, you may well have a crack at a CMP round 3 pistol. There are guys that study the total allotment from the Army, and distribution by CMP that feel there will be enough left for a round 3 by the end of 2022-2023. All speculation as CMP is tight lipped about this.
Available to read on CMP forum 1911 section.
Getting into the maintenance and gunsmithing sub forums now.
