    Colt 1911 circa 1917

    This has been reblued, so the price was in my ball park. Happy to give this old man a new home.

    One of the pins behind the grips in in backwards. A complete tear down clean and assembly is in order. Nice pistol even if rebound it was done many moons ago.
    I would be happy to own it!

    I took your advice and stripped it down to the bear frame. All parts sat in some CLP for a while. It has been a few moons since I stripped a 1911 down that far. Greatful for google, but I would have figured it out. Bonus is now the slidelock works.

    I also discovered my barrel is correct for under 200K serial # The pic on the left is from coolgunsite. Mine is on the right.

    Is that a crack just forward on the ejection port?
    A lot of people ruin old .45s by trying to improve them.

    Good question .... regarding my particular .45 Rem' Rand , it was already upgraded and converted to a basic comp' pistol when i bought it from another member . All that was done much improved it in many ways . In general I would agree with you if it was purchased 'stock' .
