Unhappy Remington Rand Type 3 slide earlier S/N

A Remington Rand came up for sale local to me. According to a serial number list it is a late '42, possibly early '43. My reading of the list anyways.

Shouldn't it have a type 2 slide at least? There is a disclaimer on the list stating something to the effect that shipping dates are unknown due to no R,R, records. I do realize an arsenal refurb could have changed that.

Pictures and description aren't enough to base value/originality. I don't have enough knowledge to judge that anyhow. But if it still has the high standard barrel and thumb safety are correct, looking at the pics that are available I'd think $1950 is just a little high. But not too bad. In my limited opinion/knowledge.

I have wanted a nice Remington Rand for some time. Too close to Christmas. So I must not call seller. I must not view 1911.

A few pics of the RR. Frame looks dented at the M1911 US Army stamping.

The Clawson Collector's Guide states ~955000 for Type 3 logo. The slide stop looks more like 1949 style and the RHS grip has a ring around the screw hole while the LHS does not so those mismatched. The barrel looks parkerized, not the correct blue finish.

Thanks Doran. Just those few bits of information make me feel better about passing on the RR.
