    hello all,
    would like opinions on this U.S. & S 1911 finish - dilute or parkerized?
    I do realized the mainspring housing is not correct

    Welcome to the forum.

    Difficult to tell from these photos; blueish grey the correct color. The grain on the slide and the trigger look correct.

    I believe you are referring to Du-Lite finish -- which has been described variously as "black oxide" or blued over a sandblasted surface. Either should be a dark finish, not gray.
