Brownells sells screw slot files. Ought not to cost more than four or five sets of screws.

The main difference between RIA and Tisas vs Colt and other US makes is that most import owners think a thousand rounds is a lot of shooting.

Gosh... I did not know that. Do you have a link to data that supports your assertion? Or did forget to preface your assertion with "In my opinion..."?

Several years of reading posts by casual shooters and a notable lack of RIA competition shooters in several venues.

Are you assuming that if and when an RIA 1911s get to high round count that they will fail at a higher rate than Colt, etc.? Do you have any data, or just anecdotes?

Lots of good reviews out there on RIA 1911's. IMHO, all 1911 pistols require a break in period 300-500 rounds. In my years of trading pistols I find it funny that a lot of gun owners consider 1000 rounds to be a high round count! To me that is just well broken in. Here is a review from Armed Forces International

I read that review and was disappointed in that the reviewer's vocabulary and style leads to believe he does not have very extensive credentials in firearms, manufacturing processes, etc. In all his "review" seemed more like "cheerleading" (subjective) and an indication that he liked the gun rather than a critical review.

Several years ago, Para-Ordnance had Todd Jarrett (who was their professional shooter at the time) do a 10,000-round torture test of a Para-Ordnance P14.45. Not to be outdone, in 2007 or 2008 Rock Island did a torture test of a Rock Island pistol. I believe they also ran it to 10,000 rounds. I believe I recall seeing a video of it, conducted by the Team Armscor professional shooting team, but I haven't been able to find the video. I have founds links to a Patrick Sweeney article about a Rock Island torture test, but the links are all dead so I don't know if the article is about the same test or a different one.

Those are the kind of tests that provide the most useful information/data. All else ("reviews") is but subjective opinion that does not convey any really useful information.

I still haven't been able to find Sweeney's torture test article. I found numerous links to it, but they all point to the same source, which is no longer a working link.

Here's a report by one of our members: https://forum.m1911.org/showthread.p...hlight=torture

All the ammo added up, the pistol has just over 17,500 rds through it.
Wow. So this must be one of those guys who auctually owns and shoots an "import" who does not think 1,000 rounds is a lot.
