Hey, firearm enthusiast from Canada here.
I never thought I'd own/buy a 1911, but then I saw what was listed as (and appears to be based on my research) a factory-original 1944 Ithaca 1911A1 under private sale.
Well, I find history fascinating, and I thought why not buy a piece of it for myself. So I grabbed it.
I don't have any detailed pictures currently, however the gun is in my possession and once I'm home from work I plan on finding some good lighting and taking some quality photographs of all the markings I can see, assembled and disassembled.
I was hoping the resident experts around here could tell me anything I might not know, or if I genuinely have a "rare" pistol.
Maybe an original (if it is) isn't even as rare as I think! That's what I'm hoping to learn here.
Cheers,
Evonorth
