    Greetings from Idaho!

Proud new member here, hailing from the American redoubt: northern Idaho. I've been a 1911 enthusiast for a number of years now, but the purchase of a 1944 Remington Rand got me thinking I ought to join a resource with experts on these wonderful guns. Happy to be here, and looking forward to learning and getting to know you all.

Welcome to the group! I've found a bounty of worthwhile information in this forum. Later today I'll be the owner of an M1911A1 Colt from 1943 from the current round of C.M.P. sales. (My California 10-day waiting period expires at 1628 hours).
    i sold all my handguns. . . . . . . . . . except for the 1911 style pistols in .45 ACP.

Congratulations on your new Colt! How exciting! I've always wanted to place an order through the C.M.P., but I haven't got the patience.
