Here in SE Michigan, gas is around $2.79-$3.00/gal. Most stations are easily accessible, but where I buy gas, Costco, there were 10-12 cars in each of the 8 lines. They were charging $2.60/gal. Most people were also filling several gas cans. I suspect that is what caused the long lines...
Guns can be found for the most part, but there is no ammo anywhere!

I'm in rural West Slope of Colo, haven't seen any gas shortage here but the price is up about .15 & diesel is about the same in the last few weeks.

Ammo prices are outrages if & that's a big IF you can find any at all. It's a shame really.

No apparent gasoline shortages here in southern Arizona (Tucson and to the south), with most prices for unleaded regular around an average of $2.97. Lower at Costco, but lines there are generally 6-8+ cars deep.
Guns generally available, but not at what I would call "good" prices. Ammo seemingly becoming a bit more available, but the high prices of the past 6-12 months certainly haven't started to come down.

Here in Socialist Republic of NJ, no gas issues, same Ammo shortage & price gouging as everywhere.
The State intentionally slowed down the mandatory NICS background checks. In the past, you could walk in, buy a long gun, and the merchant would have your NICS back at the register during the same visit. My last purchase, a month or so ago, it was 8 days for NICS return. And if you’re purchasing a handgun, we’re talking months wait in some towns. City’s/towns who are responsible for issuing required State Handgun Purchase Permits, and also do background checks, are taking months.

I'm in South Central Wisconsin, in a suburb of Madison. I haven't seen any gas lines, but the prices keep going up. They're currently in the $2.79 - $2.99 range and I expect them to keep climbing. Ammo prices are still high and the shortages continue. However, it does seem that some dealers have been receiving more frequent deliveries and they still sell out fast.

Indio California (Near Palm Springs.....South of LA).....no gas lines. Regular is $3.73-4.05 a gallon. We can't mail-order ammunition so!! Ammo.....doesn't exist in the stores. As thats the only place we can buy it. Only odd caliber stuff available. And if you are not a regular customer at the gun shop.....forget it. As most big box stores stopped carrying ammo, too. I tried to get friends to re-load for me (I had a fire and lost all my equipment....and lost 100,000 rounds of ammo 5 years ago). But....they say....they can't replace the components. And the increase in cost is exorbitant. Luckily....2 years ago I spent $4000 on ammo at the Phoenix Gunshow....and paid normal prices for it (22 cents a rd. for 5.56mm, 38 cents for 7.62mm, 9mm, .45acp, 7.62x39, .22LR, etc.). And another $3000 a year ago. So, I'm set for awhile. Believe me, I keep all my fired brass now-a-days!! God bless you all....and we'll get through this. Oh....30 years ago.....I used to tell people "SOMEDAY AMMUNITION WILL BE MONEY".....Well the day has come. Like someone said earlier in the thread.....I'd rather have my $$ in ammon...than the bank. Amen! to that. David (Surf City Firearms....many years ago).P1010196.jpg

In north Louisiana, gas seems to be widely available for $2.70 - &2.90 a gallon. Ammo is very limited. 9 and 45 are often limited to two boxes per customer if it’s even available. Cant find 357, 357 Sig, 308, 45 Colt, etc. Stores don’t seem optimistic.

I read yesterday that the owners of the pipeline have baid the ransom, so hopefully they will soon be able to get their computers up and running so they can turn on the pipeline and start sending gasoline to the northeast states again.

Hi there, future long time friends. Short time reader, first time poster and new convert to the 1911 in the Pacific Northwest here. I couldn't think of much to say in the intro thread, so here I am with something useful to contribute.

Gas (Costco)
~$3.50/gal premium, no lines beyond the usual

Pistols
Got my starter 9mm on election day (figured that'd be an appropriate way to celebrate). background check was instant. I was cleared by the time I walked from the front of the store with my completed form to the register.

Picked up my new RIA 1911A GI Standard for about $400, background check was about 20mins end to end. I got lucky and 2 had just been scanned in when I showed up.

Ammo
Availability is hit and miss. Persistence seems to be the key. Our best prices I know of are a local discount chain called Bi-Mart. I'm seeing about $0.33/rd for 9mm - decent stuff to my eye - Federal, CGI, Remington (just started showing up again thanks to resumed production), Winchester. Sometimes it's aluminum or steel. Usually a 2 box limit and various stores are in and out of inventory.

.45 is a little less available, but similar enough to 9, generally $0.66/rd. I've had my best luck there with Bi-Mart and Sportsman's Warehouse. It goes pretty fast so I see a lot of the same faces every weekend before opening. I've heard Cabela's is still getting it, but not on the day I can show up, sadly.

Shout out to the very friendly people at Fisherman's Marine. They haven't had ammo when I show up these days, but are always happy to chat. If someone else hadn't snatched it up, I might be $200 poorer and a Springfield fanboy instead. I don't know, though, that Rock and I seem like we were meant to be.

Other places are a little gougy on the price if you ask me, closer to the LuckyGunner prices I see.

I have a contact on the coast who reported 9mm at $0.45/rd, reasonable availability. Haven't gotten him to check on .45 for me yet.
