    1919 Colt"BLACK" Army 1911 ?

Hi first post here, My son owns this 1911 that I carried many years ago during my Military Days. It was always very reliable with standard ball, tight frame good trigger until the sear and dis connector had to be replaced. I had always thought it to be an old parts gun until recent research. I always assumed the finish was parkerized that had seen some hard use, now Im not sure.We were thinking a re-build/tune up or maybe semi retirement. There seems to be some parts that have a dark finish left to them, and on a gun this old probably newer parts. Hope pics bear it out, thumb safety, slide release, hammer and mag release. Can any one tell us what we have? Any advice, input or comments very much appreciated

I don't see any photos, either -- and we would love to see them.

If you csn, please include a photo of the pistol with one of the grip panels removed.
