I did a search, and didn't find an obvious post - so let me ask the question. The correct holster for post ww2 rebuilds is a ww2 1916 holster dyed black, am I remembering right?

Yes, but don't rule out later contract holsters. Original and rebuilt pistols were used until the late 80's. (and even later....)
Later contract holsters stamped 7791455.

Bolen likely the most common, a few others made post WWII holsters also.
