Para 1911 Elite - Ion bond finish?

Four or five years ago I purchased a NIB Para Elite 1911 on GB - I'm pretty sure that I've never shot it - mine shows that it was made in Charlotte, SN K0394xx - mine has a black finish (I thought that the gun was blued), and mine looks just like one that sold on GB, but the box for the one on GB says it's stainless - so is this black finish on mine an ion bond finish (some kind of black covering over stainless steel), or is it a nitride finish, or some other kind of finish over the stainless steel (if it's actually stainless steel underneath the finish) ? I wanna be sure to describe the gun accurately when I sell it . Thanks in advance for any guidance.
