Just a quick heads-up to our forum readers...
There are a lot of books out there, with titles like "The Ultimate Guide To [X]", or "You're Not Serious About [Y] Unless You Have [Z]" etc-etc. Some of them are good reads, but they're probably not relevant to many people, in practice.
This book is different. Mr. Harwood Loomis, the M1911 E-zine's most prominent contributing editor and NRA instructor, just published a book on simple, common-sense ways that someone can make their own home reasonably safe, with reasonable means.
It's an overused saying, but "A little goes a long way". And while for most of us safety is worth some extra expense, we often ignore simple steps, that get us 90% of the way there right out of the gate (pun intended) with little or no expense. This is what this book aims to cover, both in the home and out of it.
This forum's readers are almost certainly better than most in observing a lot of the advice and tips given in this book -- but you might be surprised. You WILL find a lot of "Why didn't I think of that?" tips in there.
Also, this is our editor's first try at publishing his own work, and I'm sure he deserves your support. Initially the book is available as a Kindle edition, but a print version is coming. The book is also available from Barnes & Noble for the Nook platform and other readers that use the .EPUB format.
