    Newbie Tac-Four

Hawkmoon and whomever else finds interest....hello! I’m new to this thread, and finally appropriated a long wanted Para.
Less desirable to some, I purchased a LDA Tac-Four. It’s the only 1911 I’ve ever owned, as I was more interested in collecting Hi-Powers 30 years ago. To the point....
I am of course interested in the history of my new found machine. Yet, Para-USA, Remington and the latest Round Hill Group LLC(?), a company that apparently semi-purchased Remington, seem no where to be found. Emails sent to any corresponding websites will bounce back undeliverable. So, I’m at a loss. I’ve seen the information on this site dwindle away as well.
My firearm: Para LDA on the left slide, Tac-Four on the right slide, PARA-USA INC./FT. LAUDERDALE FL. on right frame, serial #P186xxx right frame above trigger. Possibly unusual...”Made in Canada” is on the underbelly of the dust cover instead of the right side frame like I usually notice.
Any help would be appreciated as I’d like to assist with the history of these fine pieces.
    Much thanks!

    Welcome, Giantsteps.

This post has been split off from the Para database project thread because it doesn't contribute any information to the database. Any Tac-Four experts out there, please join in if you can help Giantsteps get information about his new (to him) pistol.

I just ran across this thread that has been effectively closed because it doesn't add any information about Para's. So my post, if it survives, is only to give Giantsteps a frame of reference for his Tac-Four.

My Tac-Four, purchased new in 2003 is ser.# P119XXX. Holding gun muzzle forward, Stamping as follows: Para Tac-Four on the slide left side, .45 LDA on the right side.
PARA-ORDNANCE, INC/FT. LAUDERDALE, FL. MADE IN CANADA just forward of that. Ser.# same location as OP's.

I like the gun but being more accustomed to standard 1911's, I've never gotten used to the LDA action. It is more of a curiosity to me. I'm keeping it for that reason. Also it is another "house gun" if needed.
