True crime report from Ian McCollum

Ian has posted a new video on his YouTube channel, about a massive fraud that involved the Colt firearms collection at the Connecticut State Library. Long-time members and readers may recall that M1911.org has made two visits to the Colt collection at the Connecticut State Library, one by John and another by two of our early forum members and contributors, Hunter and OD*.

The Colt collection includes a number of 1911s, including one of the (or maybe the only) 1910 prototypes that didn't have the thumb safety. For any 1911 aficionado who finds him or herself in New England, the Colt collection is a must-see stop. And it's not very far from the Springfield Armory, which is just up the road from Hartford in Springfield, Massachusetts, and which is now a museum operated by the National Park Service.
